Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Federal Constabulary Training Centre in Shabqadar, Charsadda, on Saturday. During the visit, he reviewed operational preparedness, training standards, and ongoing reforms aimed at modernising the force.
Focus on Modern Security Transformation
The interior minister assessed efforts to transform the Federal Constabulary into a modern security institution. He emphasized readiness for emerging internal and external security challenges.
Additionally, he inspected training activities of the Special Protection Wing and the Anti-Riot Wing. Both units operate under the Ministry of Interior and are designed for specialized security roles.
Security for Foreign Dignitaries and Public Order
The Special Protection Wing has been tasked with providing security to foreign state guests and international dignitaries. Meanwhile, the Anti-Riot Wing focuses on maintaining public order during sensitive situations.
Naqvi praised the training quality of personnel and reaffirmed the governmentโs commitment to aligning the force with international security standards.
He stated that the Special Protection Wing is being developed as a modern, well-structured unit modeled on advanced international security systems.
Advanced Training and International Exposure
The minister highlighted that personnel training is receiving special attention. Arrangements have been made for foreign trainers to instruct selected officers.
Moreover, some officials will be sent abroad for advanced training programs. This initiative aims to improve operational efficiency and professional skills.
Naqvi also directed authorities to focus on physical fitness, modern weapons handling, and advanced driving techniques.
In addition, he stressed improving educational qualifications and introducing international language training to meet global security demands.
Upgrading Equipment and Infrastructure
The interior minister ordered procurement of modern anti-riot equipment. This step is intended to strengthen the Federal Constabularyโs ability to manage law and order situations effectively.
He also highlighted the forceโs critical role in counterterrorism efforts and maintaining national security stability.
During the visit, Naqvi inspected residential barracks and interacted with trainees. He asked about food quality, living conditions, and available facilities.
Following his inspection, he issued immediate instructions to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in barracks. He also directed the construction of a gymnasium and swimming pool at the training center.
Training Reform and Inclusion Measures
Inspector General Nazir Ahmad Gada briefed the interior minister on ongoing reforms and training programs. He informed that trainees come from all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Officials also noted the inclusion of 35 female recruits in the current training cycle. This marks an important step toward greater gender representation within the force.
Senior officials, including the Deputy Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary, the Deputy Commissioner of Charsadda, and the District Police Officer, were also present during the visit.
