Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has submitted a written response to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Sources said Rizwan sent his response through courier on Tuesday.
Rizwan reportedly raised several questions about the agency’s inquiry and sought clarification about his summons.
Rizwan Questions NCCIA Summons
According to sources, Rizwan asked why he had been called by the NCCIA.
He also questioned why his mobile phone had not been returned.
The batter further sought clarification about the alleged disciplinary violation linked to the inquiry.
Rizwan reportedly asked the agency to explain the reasons for calling him and the basis of the investigation.
Mobile Phone Data Under Investigation
Rizwan and Pakistan Test opener Imam-ul-Haq are reportedly being questioned over alleged dressing-room information leaks during the ongoing Test series against England.
The investigation reportedly involves data obtained from their mobile phones.
Sources said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took custody of the players’ phones before handing them over to the relevant authorities.
The investigation is also reportedly examining financial matters and suspected transactions involving the two players.
Sources claimed that financial dealings before and after the England Test series are being reviewed. Bank account details are also reportedly under scrutiny.
Imam-ul-Haq Faces Separate Disciplinary Action
Meanwhile, Imam-ul-Haq could face disciplinary action over several allegations.
Sources said an initial report has been prepared against the opener.
The allegations reportedly include a suspicious injury, dressing-room information leaks and disciplinary violations.
His earlier case has also reportedly been reopened.
Sources said the PCB had previously raised questions about an injury Imam suffered during Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand.
An earlier inquiry reportedly recommended a two-year ban. However, former team officials intervened and recommended that the batter should not be banned.
The latest developments have placed both Rizwan and Imam under increased scrutiny as the NCCIA investigation continues.
