The French Embassy in Islamabad has warned Pakistanis against fraudulent visa appointment services circulating online. Authorities urged applicants to avoid unauthorized individuals offering consular appointments through social media platforms. The embassy stressed that only official channels handle visa and consular appointment requests. Moreover, it advised the public to stay alert against misleading advertisements.
Fraudulent Social Media Posts Raise Concerns
According to the embassy, several social media posts advertise appointments for French consular services. These services include marriage registration, family reunification, and OFPRA or OFII-related procedures.
Furthermore, some advertisements promise urgent appointments for additional payments or private arrangements. They also encourage applicants to contact them through WhatsApp or private messages. However, the embassy confirmed that these offers are completely fraudulent.
Officials clarified that these individuals have no authority to arrange official appointments. Therefore, applicants should never trust anyone claiming guaranteed or expedited consular access. The embassy emphasized that unauthorized intermediaries cannot influence appointment availability or processing times.
Instead, applicants should immediately report suspicious offers and avoid sharing personal information. Officials added that scammers often exploit urgent cases to deceive unsuspecting applicants. Consequently, the embassy encouraged everyone to verify information before responding to online advertisements.
Embassy Advises Applicants to Use Official Channels
The French Embassy reminded applicants that official appointment systems remain the only legitimate option. It urged everyone to book appointments through authorized embassy platforms without involving third parties.
Additionally, visa applications from Pakistan are processed through the official France-Visas system. The embassy stressed that following official procedures protects applicants from fraud and identity theft.
Meanwhile, officials continue monitoring misleading online content targeting prospective travelers. They also encouraged applicants to consult embassy announcements for verified information. The warning aims to protect applicants while ensuring transparent and secure access to French consular and visa services.
