Medical and dental graduates now have additional time to complete registration for the National Registration Examination (NRE) Step-I. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has extended the registration deadline to September 15, 2026.
Candidates can complete their registration and pay the prescribed fee by the revised deadline. The extension gives applicants more time to finish the required process before registrations close.
NRE Step-I Exam Date Remains Unchanged
PMDC confirmed that the examination will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Rawalpindi, will conduct the examination.
The council issued its latest public notice on September 9, confirming the revised registration deadline. However, the examination date remains unchanged.
The extension follows PMDC’s earlier notice issued on August 21, 2026. Therefore, candidates should note that only the registration deadline has been revised.
How Candidates Can Register
Interested candidates can register for NRE Step-I through the PMDC registration portal. They must complete the registration process and submit the prescribed fee within the extended timeframe.
Candidates planning to appear in the examination should ensure their registration is completed by September 15. Missing the revised deadline could prevent applicants from completing the registration process for the scheduled examination.
PMDC has also advised applicants to regularly visit its official website. The council will provide further information and updates through its official channels.
With the registration deadline now extended, eligible candidates have until September 15 to complete their NRE Step-I registration. The examination itself will proceed on October 11 at NUMS, Rawalpindi.
