Adnoc Logistics and Services (Adnoc L&S) has confirmed that two of its crude oil tankers were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The company announced the incident on Tuesday.
According to Adnoc L&S, the vessels Al Bahyah and Mombasa B were struck by projectiles during the early hours of July 14. Both very large crude carriers sustained significant damage in the attack.
The company also confirmed that one seafarer was killed while several others suffered injuries. However, it did not disclose the severity of the injuries.
Company Condemns Attack On Civilian Shipping
In an official statement, Adnoc L&S expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased crew member. It also wished the injured seafarers a full and speedy recovery.
Furthermore, the company strongly condemned the attack on civilian shipping and its crew members. It described the incident as an attack on innocent seafarers performing their duties.
Meanwhile, Adnoc L&S said it continues working closely with emergency responders and relevant authorities following the incident.
Investigation And Response Continue
According to the company, Al Bahyah is owned by Adnoc L&S, while Mombasa B operates under a time-charter arrangement. Both vessels sustained significant damage during the attack.
However, Adnoc L&S has not released further information about the condition of the ships. It also declined to provide additional details regarding the injured crew members.
