The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) seized more than 678 kilograms of narcotics during a province-wide crackdown. Authorities also arrested 56 suspects in 52 operations conducted over the past two weeks.
Officials said the operations targeted drug traffickers, smugglers, and other criminal elements. Furthermore, the campaign aimed to improve public safety across Punjab. According to CNF authorities, the raids resulted in significant narcotics recoveries. Law enforcement teams also confiscated illegal weapons and liquor during the operations.
Large Quantities of Narcotics Recovered
The seized drugs included 514 kilograms of hashish and 120 kilograms of opium. Authorities also recovered 20.5 kilograms of crystal meth, commonly known as ice.
Additionally, officers confiscated 24 kilograms of cannabis and 138 grams of heroin. The operations highlighted the scale of narcotics trafficking networks operating in the province. CNF teams also seized 1,220 litres of liquor during the raids. Moreover, authorities recovered 10 pistols from suspects involved in illegal activities.
Officials stated that eliminating drugs and illegal weapons remains a top priority. Consequently, the force continues to expand its enforcement efforts.
Agency Reports Major Success Since Launch
The Punjab CNF became operational on August 22, 2025. Since then, the agency has intensified actions against drug trafficking networks. According to official figures, the force has recovered 22.8 tonnes of narcotics. Authorities estimate the seized drugs carry a market value of approximately Rs 2.556 billion.
Officials believe these operations have disrupted several trafficking channels. Therefore, the crackdown has strengthened efforts to combat organized drug crime.
The Director General of Punjab CNF reaffirmed the agencyโs commitment to continued enforcement. He stated that authorities would maintain indiscriminate action against drug dealers and smugglers.
Furthermore, officials emphasized protecting young people from the harmful effects of narcotics. The force plans to continue operations across Punjab in pursuit of that objective.
