The Punjab Board of Revenue has allowed the issuance of manual land records for the next three months. The decision was announced through an official notification issued on Tuesday.
According to the notification, authorities may continue issuing manual fards and maintain non-computerised settlements during the transition period. However, officials must complete the computerisation of these records within three months.
The temporary measure aims to ensure uninterrupted public services while digitisation continues across the province.
PLRA Introduces New Digital Process
Meanwhile, land transfer records in computerised settlements will follow the new procedure introduced by the Punjab Land Revenue Authority (PLRA). The authority will also launch a digital verification system for land transfer records.
Furthermore, the digital verification system will connect directly with the province’s e-registration system. Officials expect the integration to improve transparency and speed up land-related transactions.
The notification also stated that copies of revenue records in manual settlements will continue under Rule 36, Sub Rule A2.
Authorities Ordered To Complete Digitisation
The Board of Revenue directed authorities to digitise all non-computerised settlements within the three-month deadline. Consequently, departments must complete the process without delaying public services.
After digitisation finishes, authorities will issue green property certificates without interruption. The move is expected to strengthen the province’s digital land management system.
Finally, the Board of Revenue instructed all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers to implement the notification. Officials are expected to ensure timely compliance with the new directions while completing the digitisation process.
