Iran said no negotiations with the United States are scheduled in the coming days. However, Tehran confirmed an expert delegation will visit Doha later this week.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran remains focused on implementing the peace memorandum. He stressed that fulfilling the agreement remains Tehran’s immediate priority.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump claimed Iran requested a meeting in Doha on Tuesday.
Iran Focuses on Agreement Implementation
Baqaei said the United States has issued licences under Article 10 of the memorandum. These licences relate to Iran’s oil sales.
He added that authorities are monitoring the implementation process closely. Furthermore, Iran continues pursuing the release of its frozen assets under Article 11.
According to Baqaei, an expert delegation will travel to Doha later this week. The team will follow up on implementing the asset release provisions.
He also explained that negotiations on a final agreement have not started. Article 13 requires several earlier provisions to be implemented first.
Tehran Denies Trumpโs Claim
Baqaei rejected reports of meetings with senior US officials in Doha. He clarified that any American visit to Qatar would remain unrelated to Iran’s technical delegation.
“There will be no negotiation meeting with the American side at any level in the coming days,” he said.
Earlier, President Trump announced that Iran had requested a meeting. However, he provided no additional details about the proposed talks.
Additionally, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said no technical working group meetings are scheduled this week under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
