Child Taken to Hospital After Falling From Roof
An 11-year-old boy died at Mayo Hospital in Lahore after his family alleged that doctors failed to provide timely medical treatment following a serious fall.
The child was identified as Ahmad Zahid. According to his family, he fell from the roof of his house and sustained critical injuries.
His parents said they immediately rushed him to the emergency ward of Mayo Hospital at around 7pm, hoping that doctors would begin urgent treatment.
However, the family alleged that the child did not receive the required medical attention despite his condition becoming increasingly serious.
Parents Claim Doctors Delayed Treatment for Hours
The boy’s parents claimed that hospital staff continued directing them from one department to another instead of starting emergency treatment.
They alleged that they were made to move around the hospital for nearly three hours, from 7pm until approximately 10pm.
During this period, the family said Ahmad’s condition continued to deteriorate. They alleged that oxygen was not provided when it was urgently needed.
According to the parents, the child later died because of delays in treatment and the alleged non-availability of oxygen.
The family said that timely medical intervention could possibly have saved Ahmad’s life. However, this claim has not yet been confirmed through an official medical investigation.
Family Condemns Alleged Behaviour of Hospital Staff
Ahmad’s parents also criticised the alleged behaviour of doctors and other hospital employees during the emergency.
They said hospital staff did not treat their concerns with the seriousness required in a life-threatening situation.
The grieving family described the conduct of the medical personnel as unacceptable and accused them of showing negligence during the child’s treatment.
They demanded that the authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding Ahmad’s death and determine whether emergency procedures were followed correctly.
Parents Demand Strict Action and Transparent Investigation
The family has called for strict action against any doctors or hospital employees found responsible for negligence.
They urged the Punjab health authorities and Mayo Hospital administration to examine medical records, emergency response procedures and available surveillance footage.
The parents also demanded accountability to prevent similar incidents from happening to other patients.
No detailed response from the hospital administration or the accused medical staff was included in the initial report.
The allegations therefore remain subject to investigation. An official inquiry would be required to determine the exact cause of death and whether any medical professional failed to perform their duties.
The incident has once again raised concerns about emergency care, oxygen availability and patient management at major public hospitals.
Ahmad’s family is seeking justice and a transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of their 11-year-old son.
