Tanzeem Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s claims about a planned protest outside Adiala Jail. The dispute emerged after PTI leaders denied receiving prior notice about mobilizing 10,000 supporters.
Earlier, PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, said Mahmood Khan Achakzai discussed gathering supporters outside Adiala Jail. She stated both sides planned a protest from 3pm until 7pm at the prison.
PTI Leaders Deny Receiving Notice
However, PTI Parliamentary Leader Shahid Khattak denied knowledge of the proposed gathering. He said Achakzai never informed party leaders about bringing 10,000 supporters. Khattak added the party could have mobilized participants if it had received advance notice.
He further said even he could have arranged hundreds of supporters. Therefore, he insisted PTI should have been officially informed before announcing any demonstration.
TTAP Defends Communication Process
On Wednesday, TTAP spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai rejected Khattak’s claims through an official statement. He maintained PTI leaders repeatedly requested Achakzai to announce a fixed protest schedule.
According to Yousafzai, Achakzai presented the proposal to Aleema Khan, who accepted the suggested timing. He also claimed PTI’s parliamentary leadership received complete details during a joint parliamentary meeting on June 11.
The meeting reportedly included Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Parliamentary Leader Shahid Khattak. Furthermore, participants were informed that Aleema Khan supported the scheduled protest plan.
TTAP maintained discussions and decisions were shared with PTI leaders before Tuesday’s planned gathering. Nevertheless, Yousafzai expressed concern over Khattak’s later statements denying prior communication about the demonstration.
