After giving a shut-up call to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Donald Trump has given a strong signal for striking a peace deal with Iran. On Wednesday night, Donald Trump and Netanyahu exchanged hot words during a phone call over a possible deal with Iran. And their telephonic clash became talk of the town today, indicating a good opportunity for materializing a peace deal with Iran. That’s why Pakistan has accelerated diplomatic efforts to strike a deal between the United States and Iran.
Pakistani Interior Minister has been in Tehran since Wednesday, while Field Marshal/CDF Syed Asim Munir is also reaching Tehran today (as per media reports) to put his weight behind ongoing efforts to end the US-Iran conflict as early as possible.
Three positive developments were noted this week
1) The United States and Iran have allowed safe passage to several oil tankers and ships through the Strait of Hormuz, demonstrating a change in their stance on the Hormuz blockade;
2) Iran says it is reviewing the US peace proposal and exchanging messages with the United States through the mediator (Pakistan);
3) Donald Trump has paused the attack on Iran, saying he would wait for more days to receive a good response from Iran.
These developments and the verbal clash between Donald Trump and Netanyahu show that the United States and Iran are close to signing a peace deal in the coming few days. And it is understood that the US-Iran peace deal would, indeed, upset Netanyahu, who is notorious for shedding the blood of Muslims and he supports anarchy and chaos instead of peace. As Donald Trump is under immense pressure from his countrymen and the European leaders, he would like to end hostilities with Iran. Also, the FIFA World Cup 2026 is starting from June 11, and Donald Trump wants to shift his attention to the mega sports event rather than war with Iran.
Another factor that has left Trump high and dry is the unexpected increase in the fuel cost that is driving up inflation, cost of living amid longer than expected conflict with Iran. Moreover, November 2026, mid-polls are also a few months away and Donald Trump would not like to prolong further hostilities with Iran. Hence, his immediate choice is to get out of war with Iran.
