KARACHI: Sindh Police department today announced reward of one million rupees for providing information for the recovery of Fahmida Pitafi. Ms Pitafi has gone missing in Ghotki district.
Fahmida went missing on January 1, 2026, from her husband’s house in Mustafabad Colony, Daharki.
Police officials said they would keep the identity of anyone providing useful information completely confidential.
Investigation enters new phase
The police decision comes as authorities intensify efforts to trace Fahmida after months without a breakthrough in the case.
On September 13, Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho reviewed progress on the investigation during a meeting in Mirpur Mathelo.
The meeting brought together senior police officials from Ghotki district and other relevant departments.
Odho directed the officers to use every available resource to locate Fahmida and ensure her safe and early recovery.
He also instructed the officers to strengthen investigative efforts and pursue every possible lead linked to her disappearance.
Court orders require compliance
Meanwhile, the police chief stressed the need to fully implement all court orders related to the missing woman’s case.
The Sindh High Court has directed the Sindh IGP to appear at the next hearing and explain the failure to recover Fahmida.
The court order has increased pressure on police authorities to resolve the case and provide answers about the woman’s disappearance.
Therefore, police have urged anyone with authentic information about Fahmida’s whereabouts to contact authorities without hesitation.
Officials reiterated that they would protect the informer’s identity while offering the Rs1 million reward for information leading to her safe recovery.
