The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has rescheduled the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) for overseas scholarships. The test will now take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
HEC had previously scheduled the test for Sunday, September 27. The revised date applies to applicants seeking overseas scholarships under the relevant Phase III, Batch IV programme.
HEC Announces Revised Test Date
According to an HEC notice, the change affects applicants for MS/MPhil leading to PhD scholarships. The scholarships cover selected fields under the Overseas Scholarships programme.
HEC cited administrative reasons and unavoidable circumstances behind the schedule change. It advised applicants to note the revised date and make arrangements accordingly.
Applicants should therefore adjust their plans according to the new test schedule. The commission has asked candidates to follow the updated date announced through its official notice.
Other Scholarship Conditions Remain Unchanged
HEC initially invited applications for MS/MPhil and PhD scholarships through an advertisement issued on August 9, 2026. The commission later issued a corrigendum and addendum on August 20.
However, the latest notice does not change other scholarship requirements. HEC confirmed that all remaining terms and conditions will continue as previously announced.
The commission also clarified that details contained in the earlier advertisement remain valid. The same applies to information provided in the subsequent corrigendum and addendum.
Candidates applying under the programme should therefore follow the revised HAT schedule. They should also review previous HEC announcements for other applicable requirements.
The rescheduling gives applicants a new test date before the scholarship selection process moves forward. HEC has urged candidates to take note of the change and prepare accordingly.
