LAHORE: Services of two District and Sessions Judges of Punjab have been placed at the disposal of the federal government on deputation, according to a notification issued on Friday.
The notification was approved by Justice Aalia Neelam, Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court.
Under the decision, District and Sessions Judge/OSD Arshad Iqbalโs services have been handed over to the federal government. He has been appointed as Judge, Banking Court No. 2, Lahore, against a vacant position.
Similarly, District and Sessions Judge/OSD Shahzad Raza has also been deputed to the federal government. He has been appointed as Presiding Officer of the Special Court (Offences in Banks), Lahore, against a vacant seat.
Both judicial officers have been appointed on a three-year deputation basis. They will continue to perform their duties on their existing pay and scale.
The Lahore High Court has directed both judges to assume charge of their new responsibilities immediately. According to the notification, Arshad Iqbal and Shahzad Raza will hold their respective posts until June 6, 2026.
The Registrar of the Lahore High Court has formally issued the notification regarding these appointments.
