PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Elementary and Secondary Education Department has established Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Institute. In Pakistan, it is the first institute that will promote modern technology and support the digital transformation of the province’s education sector.
The Artificial Intelligence and Digital Institute will also develop AI-based solutions for education.
A seven-member team will lead efforts to establish technical frameworks and guidelines for the new institute. The team will also review existing systems across the department.
Modern Technology to Transform Education
The team will recommend measures to reduce manual procedures and improve administrative efficiency. Furthermore, it will develop digital applications to strengthen transparency and service delivery.
Officials expect these applications to simplify departmental processes and improve access to education-related services. The institute will also support the wider adoption of digital tools.
Meanwhile, the initiative forms part of the KP government’s broader strategy to expand AI and digital technology across the education sector.
The provincial government aims to modernise education systems through technology-driven reforms. It also seeks to improve institutional performance and strengthen public services.
KP Expands AI-Based Education Reforms
Earlier this year, the provincial government moved toward establishing an AI Education Authority. The proposed authority would support AI-based teaching systems and other education reforms.
Moreover, the latest institute will provide technical support for implementing digital initiatives within the education department. It will also assess existing procedures and identify areas for improvement.
Through these measures, the KP government plans to create a more technology-focused education system. The initiative could also encourage wider use of AI in public-sector education.
The institute’s establishment marks a significant step toward integrating emerging technologies into education administration and service delivery across the province.
