A Pakistani advance delegation has arrived in Switzerland before the planned US-Iran memorandum of understanding signing ceremony. Officials are making diplomatic and logistical arrangements ahead of Pakistan’s participation in the high-profile event.
The delegation includes senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government departments. They departed a day earlier to coordinate preparations before senior leaders arrive.
Foreign Secretary Joins Preparations
According to diplomatic sources, Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch has also left for Switzerland. She will join the Pakistani delegation before the official ceremony begins.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to depart for Switzerland on Thursday. He will represent Pakistan during the signing ceremony alongside other international participants.
The event is scheduled for June 19 in the Swiss resort town of Bรผrgenstock. The venue has hosted several major international conferences and diplomatic meetings in recent years.
Pakistan Strengthens Diplomatic Engagement
Officials said Pakistan’s advance team continues coordinating arrangements before the prime minister’s arrival. They are managing diplomatic engagements and logistical requirements for the official visit.
Furthermore, Pakistan’s participation reflects Islamabad’s continued engagement with regional and international partners. The visit also follows recent diplomatic efforts supporting dialogue and regional de-escalation.
Diplomatic sources said representatives from the United States, Iran, and other participating countries will attend the ceremony. However, officials have not yet released details about the proposed memorandum of understanding.
