Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed officials to further improve the cashless passport fee payment system. He said the process should become simpler, faster and more user-friendly for citizens.
Randhawa issued the instructions during a visit to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports headquarters. During the visit, he reviewed the performance of the digital payment system.
To assess the process personally, Randhawa paid a passport fee using a QR code. Afterwards, he expressed satisfaction with the cashless payment system following the inspection.
Officials Directed To Improve User Experience
The director general instructed passport officials to ensure the payment system remains convenient, transparent and easily accessible. Consequently, citizens should experience fewer delays while completing passport fee payments.
He also emphasised the need to minimise long queues at passport offices. Furthermore, he directed officials to continue enhancing the efficiency of digital services.
Passport Facilities To Be Upgraded
Randhawa instructed the headquarters administration to maintain clean and well-organised passport halls. In addition, he called for comfortable waiting areas to improve the overall experience for visitors.
