Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) conducted the second National Equivalence Board (NEB) Examination of 2026 for foreign medical students seeking transfers to Pakistan.
The university held the examination according to the standards and regulations of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC). Students from 10 countries participated, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
Examination Assesses Medical Students’ Skills
The NEB examination takes place twice a year to evaluate students who have partially completed medical or dental programmes at foreign institutions.
The examination assesses their medical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional attributes. Students must meet the required standards before they can seek transfers to recognized medical or dental institutions in Pakistan.
Authorities expect to announce the examination results within one week. Candidates who successfully pass the examination will then become eligible for the next stage of the transfer process.
PM&DC To Issue NOCs To Successful Candidates
The PM&DC will issue the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) to candidates who qualify for the examination. The certificate will allow successful students to seek admission through transfer to recognized medical and dental colleges and universities across Pakistan.
However, passing the NEB examination does not guarantee a transfer. Candidates must also secure an available seat at their preferred medical or dental institution and meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
The examination provides a formal assessment pathway for foreign medical students who wish to continue their education in Pakistan. Furthermore, the process helps ensure that transferring students meet the academic and professional standards required by Pakistani medical institutions.
