ISLAMABAD: Palestineโs Grand Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein arrived in Pakistan on Sunday, leading a high level delegation on an official visit aimed at enhancing religious and diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Officials and prominent religious scholars received the delegation upon arrival. Meanwhile, the Grand Mufti is scheduled to meet senior Pakistani leadership, leading ulema, and representatives of various religious organisations during his stay.
According to sources, the visit will include participation in conferences and special sessions focusing on the situation in Palestine. In particular, discussions will address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the broader challenges faced by Palestinians.
Furthermore, Sheikh Hussein is expected to deliver addresses at multiple gatherings, where he will highlight the need for unity across the Muslim world. He is also likely to emphasize collective efforts to support the Palestinian cause amid rising regional tensions.
At the same time, the visit reflects Pakistanโs continued diplomatic and moral support for Palestine. Islamabad has consistently called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a peaceful resolution to the long standing conflict in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
Additionally, observers believe that such high level engagements strengthen institutional and public solidarity between Pakistan and Palestinian leadership. They also note that religious diplomacy plays a key role in reinforcing shared values and coordinated advocacy.
Consequently, the visit is expected to deepen bilateral engagement while drawing international attention to the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Ultimately, both sides aim to use this platform to promote awareness, unity, and sustained support for Palestinian rights.
