The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has introduced a new Ziarat booking system for Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iran and Iraq.
Under the new Ziyarat Policy 2026, pilgrims can now book their travel packages only through officially registered Ziarat Group Organizers (ZGOs).
The ministry has registered 262 ZGOs under the updated policy. Officials said the new system aims to improve transparency, safety, and organization in Ziarat travel arrangements.
Pilgrims Advised to Verify Approved Organizers
The ministry has uploaded the complete list of approved Ziarat Group Organizers on its official website. Pilgrims should check the list before selecting a travel provider.
Authorities advised travelers to choose only registered organizers for their pilgrimage arrangements. This step will help protect pilgrims from fraud, fake agents, and unauthorized booking services.
Officials also warned that individuals or companies without official approval cannot arrange Ziarat bookings. The ministry stated that it will not take responsibility for financial losses caused by unauthorized bookings.
New Policy Aims to Protect Pilgrims
The updated booking system focuses on creating a safer and more reliable travel process for pilgrims visiting holy sites in Iran and Iraq.
Moreover, the system aims to control illegal operators who previously offered unofficial travel packages. By allowing only approved organizers to handle bookings, authorities hope to reduce complaints and improve services.
The ministry encouraged pilgrims to confirm the registration status of their selected organizer before making payments. They should also verify all travel details before finalizing their arrangements.
Digital Approach Improves Travel Management
The introduction of the Ziarat booking system reflects efforts to modernize pilgrimage management in Pakistan. A regulated system can help authorities monitor organizers and provide better support to travelers.
Through the new policy, the ministry aims to ensure that Pakistani pilgrims receive organized services while traveling abroad for religious visits. The initiative also promotes accountability among travel operators and creates a more transparent process for future Ziarat journeys.
