ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army team secured first position at the prestigious International Pace Sticking Competition 2026 held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.
Representing Pakistan through the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), the team delivered an outstanding performance and outclassed competitors from around the world. The annual event brought together military teams from several countries and tested participants on professional drill standards, discipline, coordination, and ceremonial excellence.
Pakistan Army Dominates Global Competition
According to the ISPR, the PMA contingent achieved a clean sweep by winning all major awards at the competition. The team secured the 1st Overall Team Trophy, Best Pace Sticker Award, and Best Driver Award.
The nine-member contingent, led by Major Haider Gulzar, arrived in the United Kingdom on June 5 to participate in the event. A total of 16 teams from different armies competed in this yearโs edition of the competition.
The victory highlights the high standards of training, professionalism, and commitment maintained by the Pakistan Army. Moreover, the achievement reinforces Pakistanโs growing reputation in international military competitions.
Strong Record of International Success
Pakistan has consistently performed well at the International Pace Sticking Competition. The country previously won the event in 2020, marking its third consecutive title after first participating in 2018.
Furthermore, the Pakistan Army has also excelled in other international military contests. In October 2025, a Pakistan Army team won the gold medal at Exercise Cambrian Patrol in Wales. The army also secured gold medals in the same exercise in 2024, 2017, 2016, and 2015.
The latest success at Sandhurst further demonstrates the Pakistan Armyโs commitment to excellence and its ability to compete successfully against leading military teams from across the world.
