The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has developed an artificial intelligence-powered investigation system. Officials announced the initiative on Tuesday as part of the bureau’s digital transformation strategy.
National Centre of Artificial Intelligence Chairman Dr Yasar Ayaz described the platform as Pakistan’s first sovereign generative AI investigation system. He said the technology will strengthen investigations into financial crimes and white-collar offences.
AI Platform Supports Modern Investigations
According to Dr Ayaz, the platform uses advanced artificial intelligence to assist investigators. It is designed to improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of complex investigations.
Furthermore, the system will help investigators analyse financial records and manage evidence. It will also support complaint verification, inquiry management, and informed decision-making.
Officials said the platform reflects Pakistan’s growing capability to develop indigenous AI solutions. They added that the project maintains national data sovereignty and institutional ownership.
NAB Advances Digital Reform Agenda
A review meeting took place under the supervision of NAB Islamabad and Rawalpindi Director General Waqar Ahmed Chauhan. Experts from the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence also attended the session.
During the meeting, the AI development team demonstrated the platform’s capabilities. Participants reviewed its functions across financial analysis, evidence management, and investigation support.
Officials expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress. They also reaffirmed their commitment to completing and deploying the system on schedule.
Once operational, the platform is expected to become a flagship indigenous AI initiative. Authorities believe it will promote transparency, accountability, and technology-driven governance across Pakistan.
Meanwhile, NAB and the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence pledged continued collaboration. They aim to advance sovereign AI solutions for Pakistan’s public sector and modern law enforcement.
