NEW HARDWARE BRINGS PERFORMANCE AND DISPLAY CHANGES
Microsoft has introduced updates to four Surface devices, including the Surface Pro 13, Surface Laptop 13-inch, Surface Laptop 13.8-inch, and Surface Laptop 15-inch, adding new hardware improvements and feature enhancements across its product lineup.
The updated devices now run on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors as Microsoft continues expanding its AI-focused PC ecosystem. Meanwhile, reports indicate that additional models powered by Snapdragon X2 processors could arrive later this year.
The Surface Laptop 13.8-inch and Surface Laptop 15-inch received some of the most significant upgrades in the latest refresh. Microsoft added new display options for both devices, with selected variants introducing a privacy screen feature designed to limit viewing angles and improve screen confidentiality.
In addition, the Surface Laptop 15-inch now offers a higher-resolution display aimed at improving visual quality for users seeking larger screens and sharper content.
TRACKPAD ENHANCEMENTS AND ENTRY-LEVEL OPTIONS ADDED
At the same time, Microsoft also updated the trackpad system on both the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch and Surface Laptop 15-inch models. The redesigned trackpad now supports Windows 11 haptic feedback features, providing subtle physical responses during specific actions.
Users will experience light feedback when interacting with interface elements such as snapping application windows or aligning objects within the operating system. Consequently, Microsoft aims to create a more responsive and intuitive user experience.
Meanwhile, the mid-range Surface Laptop 13-inch also received Intel processor upgrades and now comes with an anti-reflective display option. Microsoft plans to sell this configuration at a starting price of $1,499.
Furthermore, the company intends to launch a lower-cost version featuring 8GB of RAM without Copilot Plus functionality. That model will enter the market with a starting price of $1,299 later this year.
