Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone could launch with a new name and lower starting price. Recent reports previously placed its price above $2,000, with estimates reaching $2,199.
However, a last-minute rumor now suggests Apple could price the device at $1,999. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also reportedly claims Apple will call it the iPhone Duo.
The device was previously rumored as the iPhone Fold. More recent leaks had instead referred to it as the iPhone Ultra.
iPhone Duo Expected Specifications
The iPhone Duo could start with 256GB of storage and arrive in white and dark blue. It will reportedly use Apple’s A20 Pro chip and the company’s new C2 modem.
The foldable could feature two 48MP rear cameras and a 12MP front camera. Apple may specifically optimize the front camera for video conferencing.
Additionally, the device could include a magnetic hinge and Apple Pencil support. Apple could launch the foldable as early as October, with prices potentially approaching $3,000 for higher-storage variants.
iPhone 18 Pro Models Get Upgrades
Apple is also expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Both models could retain a design similar to their predecessors.
However, Apple may replace the orange finish with a new burgundy red color. At least the Pro Max could receive a variable-aperture main camera.
Both Pro models are expected to use the A20 Pro chip. They could also deliver longer battery life and improved cooling through redesigned vapor chambers.
Meanwhile, the Dynamic Island could become smaller and support three live tasks simultaneously. Both models may also cost $100 more than their predecessors.
