Woman and Three Children Die in Valencia Town
Lahore Police are investigating the mysterious deaths of a woman and her three children at their home in Valencia Town.
Police recorded the statement of Nasir, the head of the family, on Saturday. His wife and three children died under circumstances that investigators have not yet fully established.
Nasir told police that his wife had been experiencing severe emotional stress for approximately three years. He claimed she had also been taking medication for the previous six months.
These details remain part of Nasirโs statement and have not yet been independently confirmed through medical or forensic evidence.
According to his account, he returned home after purchasing groceries and asked his wife about the children. She allegedly told him that they had gone to watch a film with someone named Fatima.
Nasir said he questioned why the children had been sent without their parents. He reportedly told his wife that the family could have gone together.
His wife then offered him ice cream because he had not eaten anything since morning, he told investigators.
Neighbours Discover Children Lying Motionless
Nasir said neighbours knocked on the main door while he was speaking with his wife.
When he opened the door, they informed him that his children were lying motionless in the backyard of the house.
He immediately rushed towards the courtyard and found all three children unresponsive. They were later confirmed dead.
At around the same time, Nasirโs wife reportedly became seriously unwell. Family members and residents rushed her to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
However, she could not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The report did not disclose the names or ages of the deceased children. Authorities also did not immediately release post-mortem or toxicology findings explaining how the four family members died.
Father Suspects Toxic Substance Was Mixed Into Ice Cream
During his statement, Nasir expressed concern that his wife may have mixed a toxic substance into the ice cream before offering it to members of the family.
However, police have not confirmed that the ice cream contained poison or that it caused the deaths.
Nasirโs suspicion remains one possible line of inquiry. Investigators will require toxicology reports, medical evidence and forensic examination before determining the cause of death.
Police and forensic teams have started re-examining the familyโs home. Officers are expected to collect food samples, medicines, containers and other material that may help reconstruct the events.
Investigators may also examine surveillance footage, telephone records and statements from neighbours or relatives who interacted with the family before the deaths.
Nasir was later released on personal surety after police recorded his statement. His release does not end the investigation, and officers may question him again as additional evidence becomes available.
No person has been formally declared responsible for the deaths. The exact sequence of events and the possible presence of a toxic substance remain under investigation.
