The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police announced updated uniform rules for senior officers across the province. The revised dress code will take effect from July 1, 2026. Furthermore, the changes make black belts and black shoes compulsory for eligible officers.
Updated Dress Code Takes Effect
According to an official notification, the Inspector General of Police approved the revised uniform policy. Authorities introduced the changes under Standing Order No. 5/2026.
The updated dress code applies to Deputy Superintendents of Police, Assistant Superintendents of Police, and higher-ranking officers. Consequently, all affected officials must wear black belts with their official uniforms.
Additionally, senior officers must wear black shoes under the new requirements. The regulations will apply across all police units throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Authorities have already circulated instructions to relevant police offices. Officials must complete preparations before the new rules become effective.
Implementation Across The Province
The notification directed all departments to ensure full compliance with the updated dress code. Moreover, the police offices must implement the new requirements without delay.
Officials described the move as a limited revision to the existing police uniform policy. However, the change aims to create a more standardised appearance among senior officers.
The updated dress code will affect officers serving at DSP, ASP, and higher ranks. Therefore, all eligible personnel must follow the revised uniform requirements from July 1.
Authorities expect the changes to improve consistency across the provincial police force. Meanwhile, implementation efforts continue ahead of the official enforcement date.
