LAHORE: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the results of the CSS Examination 2025 on Thursday, and surprisingly, the success rate is very low at only 2.67%. In this year’s exam, 12,792 applicants took part in the test, but only 355 were able to qualify in the written phase.
Consequently, the statistics have proven again the rigorous selection process and high benchmarks for becoming a member of Pakistan’s most honorable recruitment scheme. Each year, hundreds of aspirants devote time in their preparations for CSS examinations, but only a few achieve their desired results.
The FPSC selected 170 applicants for appointment from the written merit list. Interestingly, the number of male and female candidates was almost equal, which comprised 84 males and 86 females respectively. The ratio shows that there is an increasing tendency towards women’s participation in the civil service sector of Pakistan.
Top Performers and Provincial Trends
On the other hand, Asad Rafiq got the first place in the merit list, Muhammad Mohsin came at the second spot, and Tariq Hafeez bagged the third position. The majority of top-performing students belonged to Punjab province with 23 individuals in the top 30 merit list, compared with two candidates from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces each and three candidates from Balochistan province.
All top 30 candidates got admission in Pakistan Administrative Service and Police Service of Pakistan. It is also important to note that none of the highest-ranking candidates preferred or got admission to the Foreign Service this time.
Overall, CSS examinations have proved themselves one of the toughest ways to enter into the field of public services in Pakistan.
