Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir issued a strong warning to Pakistan’s adversaries. He said any future aggression against Pakistan would have “far-reaching and painful consequences.”
Field Marshal Munir made these remarks during a special ceremony at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The event marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
Top Military Leadership Attends GHQ Ceremony
The ceremony brought together senior leaders from Pakistan’s armed forces. Field Marshal Munir attended as chief guest.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf also participated. The military leadership laid floral wreaths at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. Afterward, contingents from the army, air force, and navy presented a ceremonial salute.
CDF Munir Calls the Day a Moment of National Pride
Addressing the gathering, Field Marshal Munir said the occasion was a source of pride for the entire nation. He said Pakistan’s success reflected unity, determination, and professional excellence.
“Pakistan, its people, and armed forces achieved a remarkable success in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos with divine help, while the enemy suffered defeat and humiliation,” he said. According to him, the victory demonstrated the country’s resilience during a critical moment.
“A Battle Between Two Ideologies”
Field Marshal Munir said Marka-e-Haq was more than a military confrontation. He described it as a decisive contest between truth and falsehood. He said the conflict from the night of May 6-7 until May 10 tested Pakistan’s national resolve. However, he said the enemy failed to break the country’s determination.
India’s Objectives Failed, Says Army Chief
The CDF said India aimed to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and alter the regional balance of power. “India’s dream was to subject Pakistan to military aggression and diplomatic isolation,” he said. He added that these ambitions exceeded India’s capabilities. Moreover, he stressed that Pakistan would never allow this objective to materialise.
Tribute to Martyrs and Civilian Victims
Field Marshal Munir paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs. He also remembered unarmed women, elderly citizens, and children who lost their lives.
“Pakistan regarded the sacrifices of its martyrs as a sacred trust and viewed its strength as a responsibility,” he said. He described the victory as a blessing from Almighty Allah.
No Compromise on Sovereignty
The army chief said the nation had sent a clear message. He said there would be no compromise on Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, or dignity. He added that victory was achieved not only on the battlefield.
Instead, the entire nation contributed across every sector. “The entire nation stood like a solid wall in the defense of the homeland,” he said.
Air Force Played a Decisive Role
Field Marshal Munir praised the Pakistan Air Force for its performance. He said the brave “Shaheens” delivered one of the longest and most decisive air battles of modern times.
According to him, they downed advanced enemy aircraft and destroyed military installations.
Missile Strikes Hit More Than 26 Targets
The CDF said Pakistan’s strategic missile systems struck over 26 enemy military targets. He said the operation demonstrated the country’s defensive strength.
“Alhamdulillah! Today, Pakistan’s defence is fully impregnable against any external aggression,” he said. He then repeated his warning about the consequences of future hostile actions.
Terrorism Remains a Major Threat
Field Marshal Munir said India had shifted toward supporting terrorism after failing militarily. He also urged Afghanistan to eliminate terrorist camps and safe havens on its soil.
Furthermore, he praised security forces and law enforcement personnel, especially those serving in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. “We will avenge the blood of every innocent Pakistani,” he declared. He added that the fight would continue until every terrorist is eliminated.
Kashmir Remains Central to Pakistan’s Identity
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, Field Marshal Munir said, “No story of Pakistan is complete without Kashmir.” He pledged continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
Modern Warfare Requires New Capabilities
The CDF said future wars would involve several domains. These include long-range weapons, drones, cyber operations, and artificial intelligence. He noted that Defence Forces Headquarters have been established to meet these evolving requirements.
Pakistan’s Standing Has Improved Globally
Reflecting on the past year, Field Marshal Munir said Pakistan’s prestige had grown internationally. He said the country now enjoys stronger friendships around the world.
He also highlighted a strategic mutual defence agreement with Saudi Arabia. According to him, the agreement represents a historic advance in bilateral security cooperation.
What Marka-e-Haq Represents
Marka-e-Haq refers to the 19-day conflict between Pakistan and India from April 22 to May 10, 2025. The confrontation intensified after India launched attacks on May 6-7.
Pakistan responded through Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos. The conflict ended on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement. One year later, Pakistan continues to present Marka-e-Haq as a symbol of national unity, resilience, and military preparedness.
