Meta is introducing a new subscription service that brings paid features across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI. The service, called Meta One, will offer more than 50 paid features across its platforms.
Single-app subscriptions will start at $2.99 per month. Meanwhile, individual bundles will cost $7.99 or $19.99, while creator and business plans will begin at $14.99.
The company says its free apps will remain available without subscription payments. In addition, Meta AI will remain free for what it describes as “everyday use.”
What Does Meta One Offer?
Meta One builds on Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus subscriptions introduced earlier this year. According to Meta, those plans have helped push its total subscriptions and trials to 15 million.
The consumer plans focus on customization and convenience features across Meta’s platforms. These include custom fonts, app icons, super reactions, and the ability to see who viewed a Story.
Subscribers can also pin more chats and access WhatsApp backups. However, the higher-priced Core and Premium bundles provide greater access to Meta’s more compute-intensive AI features.
Users can receive more access to AI-powered image generation and editing. They can also use video generation through Meta’s Muse models and access Restyle on Instagram.
Meta said early testing found that more than half of bundle subscribers used both AI and expression features. Furthermore, Restyle and voice effects were among the main reasons users subscribed.
AI Takes a Bigger Role in Meta One
The new subscription strategy places AI at the centre of Meta’s paid offerings. Instead of simply providing an ad-free experience, Meta is charging for greater access to certain resource-intensive AI features.
The company is therefore combining social media customization with expanded AI access. At the same time, users who only want everyday access to Meta AI can continue using it for free.
Four Plans Target Creators and Businesses
Meta One also introduces four subscription tiers specifically designed for creators and businesses. The Essential plan costs $14.99 per month and includes an enhanced profile and a follow button on Reels.
It also allows automatic follow invitations for people who interact with an account. Additionally, subscribers receive a verified badge and more responses from Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp.
The Advanced plan costs $49.99 per month. It adds Story scheduling for up to 30 days, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, and team access without password sharing.
Subscribers also receive more linked devices and broadcast credits on WhatsApp. Meanwhile, the Expert and Max plans cost $149 and $499 per month, respectively.
These higher tiers offer the same general business tools at greater usage levels. They also provide increased capacity for Meta Business Agent.
Meta Brings More Business Tools Into Its Platforms
The new business subscriptions bring several social media management features directly into Meta’s platforms. Features such as organic-post links, exportable analytics, and team access were previously available through platform features and third-party tools.
Now, Meta is packaging these capabilities within its own subscription offering. As a result, Meta One combines additional customization, AI access, and business management tools under a broader paid service.
