The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has conducted a scholarship test for female students across Balochistan as part of its efforts to promote merit-based access to higher education. Thousands of applicants competed for 400 B.Ed. and BS scholarships through examinations held at multiple centres across the province.
The initiative aims to expand educational opportunities for female students while ensuring that scholarships are awarded through a transparent and competitive process.
Thousands Register for Scholarship Test
According to the HEC, 3,147 students registered for the scholarship examination.
Out of the registered applicants, 1,694 candidates appeared in the test to compete for 400 scholarships.
The scholarships are available for B.Ed. and BS degree programmes and are intended to support deserving female students across Balochistan.
Examinations Held Across the Province
The scholarship test was conducted at 14 examination centres across Balochistan.
The centres were established in Quetta, Gwadar, Turbat, Khuzdar, Hub, Zhob, and Sibi, along with other designated locations.
As a result, students from different parts of the province were able to participate in the examination closer to their hometowns.
Measures Taken to Ensure Transparency
The HEC implemented several arrangements to maintain a transparent and merit-based examination process.
According to officials, 253 invigilators supervised the examination, while 14 monitoring officers oversaw the overall process.
These measures were introduced to ensure fairness and uphold the credibility of the scholarship selection process.

During his visit, he reviewed the arrangements and expressed satisfaction with the overall management of the examination.
Officials said the smooth conduct of the test reflected the coordinated efforts made to ensure an organized examination process.
