Smartphone makers are accelerating software development as Google prepares to release the stable version of Android 17. The update is expected to bring major system improvements, enhanced security features, and a refreshed user experience across supported devices.
Chinese smartphone brand Vivo has already started its Android 17 beta program in early April. The company is now preparing for a wider rollout, which is expected to arrive later this year alongside OriginOS 7.
While Vivo has not officially confirmed the complete list of supported devices, multiple models from Vivo and its sub-brand iQOO are expected to receive the update based on existing software support policies.
Vivo X Series Devices Expected to Get Android 17
The Vivo X series remains the brandโs flagship lineup and is at the top of the Android 17 eligibility list.
Expected devices include Vivo X300, X300 Pro, X300 Ultra, X300 FE, X200, X200 Pro, X200 FE, X200T, X100, and X100 Pro.
These models are likely to receive priority updates due to their premium hardware and longer software support cycles. Vivoโs flagship series typically gets major Android upgrades earlier than mid-range and budget segments.
The update is expected to bring improved camera processing, smoother performance, and enhanced AI-driven features for flagship users.
Vivo V and T Series Also in Update Pipeline
The Vivo V series is also expected to receive Android 17 across multiple models. This includes Vivo V70, V70 FE, V70 Elite, V60, V60e, V60 Lite, V50, V50e, V40, and V40 Pro among others.
These devices represent Vivoโs upper mid-range portfolio and are widely used in global markets. The update is expected to improve multitasking performance and battery optimization.
The Vivo T series is also part of the eligible lineup. Devices such as Vivo T5 Pro, T5x, T4, T4 Lite, T4 Pro, T4 Ultra, and T4x are expected to receive the upgrade.
The T series focuses on performance-oriented users. Android 17 is expected to further improve gaming stability and system responsiveness on these devices.
iQOO Flagship, Z, and Neo Series Included
Performance-focused brand iQOO will also bring Android 17 to a wide range of devices across multiple series.
Flagship models such as iQOO 15, iQOO 15 Ultra, iQOO 15R, iQOO 13, iQOO 12, and iQOO 12 Pro are expected to be among the first to receive the update.
The iQOO Z series, including iQOO Z11, Z11x, Z10, Z10 Lite, Z10x, and Z10R, is also expected to be part of the rollout plan.
In addition, the iQOO Neo series will see updates on devices like iQOO Neo 10, Neo 10R, and Neo 9 Pro. These models are popular among gamers and power users.
The Android 17 update is expected to enhance gaming performance, reduce latency, and improve thermal efficiency across iQOO devices.
Vivo Y Series Status Remains Unclear
The Vivo Y series is notably absent from the confirmed eligibility list.
The company has not yet released a clear update policy for most Y series devices, especially newer models. This has created uncertainty among budget smartphone users.
However, industry expectations suggest that some recent Y series smartphones may still qualify for Android 17 based on hardware compatibility and previous update patterns.
Official confirmation is expected closer to the final rollout phase.
Android 17 Release Timeline and Rollout Expectations
According to Googleโs development schedule, Android 17 is expected to be released in stable form around June 2026.
Google Pixel devices will receive the update first as part of the early rollout phase.
Vivo and iQOO typically require additional time to integrate their custom interface systems such as OriginOS. As a result, their rollout is expected to begin a few months later.
Based on previous trends, Android 17 updates for Vivo and iQOO devices may start rolling out around September 2026, depending on region and model category.
