Authorities have directed universities to provide student volunteers to support the nationwide rollout of the Petrol Relief App under the governmentโs subsidy initiative. According to reports by 24NewsHD, officials issued instructions for volunteers to assist citizens and petrol pump staff in using the digital system effectively. Meanwhile, the move forms part of broader efforts to streamline access to fuel subsidies.
Officials outline volunteer deployment plan
In a formal communication, university administrations have been asked to nominate students for the program. Authorities plan to deploy three trained volunteers at each petrol station to guide users through the application process. In addition, officials will provide online training to ensure volunteers understand the system and can assist efficiently.
The initiative aims to reduce confusion and improve accessibility, particularly for individuals unfamiliar with digital platforms. Consequently, authorities expect the presence of trained volunteers to speed up implementation and minimize operational challenges at petrol pumps.
Furthermore, the program sets a monthly quota of 20 liters per user, allowing beneficiaries to save up to Rs2,000 each month. Officials say the targeted approach ensures assistance reaches those most affected by fuel costs.
As the rollout continues, authorities emphasize the importance of public awareness and technical support. Therefore, the volunteer program is expected to play a key role in ensuring smooth adoption nationwide.
