Ukrainian drones killed at least six civilians during overnight strikes across Russia. The attacks also hit a warehouse owned by online retailer Ozon. Additionally, officials reported damage to an industrial facility in the Samara region.
Russian regional authorities confirmed casualties and injuries following the attacks. Meanwhile, emergency teams responded to affected areas and assessed the damage. The strikes marked another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Samara Region Reports Damage and Injuries
Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said several people suffered injuries during the strikes. However, he did not identify the industrial facility that came under attack. Ukrainian military officials later claimed responsibility for striking the Novokuibyshevsk refinery.
According to Ukraine’s military, the attack triggered a fire at the refinery. The facility plays an important role in Russia’s energy infrastructure. Consequently, the strike could affect regional industrial operations.
Ozon Warehouse Operations Suspended
Ozon, Russia’s second-largest online retailer, confirmed damage to its logistics center in Chapayevsk. The company said the strike caused injuries and forced a temporary suspension of operations. Furthermore, Ozon stated that authorities were assessing the situation.
The attack marked the first reported strike on Ozon facilities. In recent weeks, Ukrainian drones repeatedly targeted its larger rival, Wildberries. Ukraine has described these operations as part of a broader campaign.
Officials in Kyiv argue that such strikes target economic infrastructure supporting Russia’s military efforts. Meanwhile, analysts expect further attacks on strategic industrial and commercial sites. As the conflict continues, both sides remain engaged in increasingly complex operations.
