Pakistan’s security forces killed six Fitna al-Hindustan militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said forces launched the operation after receiving reports about the presence of militants in the area. Security personnel then conducted a targeted operation against suspected hideouts.
According to the ISPR, troops effectively engaged multiple militant locations during the operation. As a result, six militants were killed following an intense exchange of fire.
The military stated that weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, and vehicles were recovered from the deceased militants. Officials said the militants had allegedly remained involved in several terrorist activities in the region.
Security Forces Continue Clearance Operations
The ISPR announced that sanitisation operations remain underway in the area. Authorities aim to eliminate any remaining militants and secure the region completely.
Furthermore, the military reaffirmed its commitment to continuing counterterrorism efforts across the country. Officials stated that operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy will proceed at full pace.
The operation follows recent security engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts. During those actions, security forces killed four militants in separate encounters.
Counterterrorism Efforts Intensify
Pakistan has increased counterterrorism operations following several deadly attacks in recent years. Security agencies have particularly focused on Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Last month, an explosion near a railway track in Quetta resulted in multiple casualties. The attack prompted authorities to strengthen security measures across sensitive areas.
Meanwhile, Pakistan continues confronting security challenges along its western border. Officials have repeatedly called for stronger action against militant groups operating in the region.
The military maintained that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eliminate terrorism and ensure national stability. Authorities also pledged to continue intelligence-based operations wherever necessary.
