A government girls’ school in Hyderabad has achieved international recognition after securing a place among the world’s Top 10 schools in the Community Collaboration category of the World’s Best School Prizes 2026.
Government Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain received the recognition from T4 Education, an international organisation that highlights outstanding schools and educational practices across the world.
This achievement places the Sindh government school among a select group of institutions chosen from thousands of public and private schools globally.
The recognition also highlights how community engagement and practical learning approaches can create meaningful educational outcomes.
What Helped the School Gain Global Recognition?
The World’s Best School Prizes honour educational institutions across five categories.
These categories include Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives.
An international panel reviewed applications before selecting ten schools in each category.
Government Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain secured its place in the Community Collaboration category because of its strong connection with students, parents, and the surrounding community.
Over time, the school introduced several initiatives that encouraged wider community participation and strengthened educational engagement.
Community Participation Became the School’s Strength
The school organised awareness campaigns and actively encouraged local residents to participate in educational activities.
At the same time, it introduced innovative STEAM learning projects focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
These initiatives aimed to make classroom learning more practical, interactive, and meaningful for students.
In addition, the school focused on supporting both the personal and academic development of its pupils.
Its community-led approach eventually helped distinguish the institution during the international evaluation process.
The recognition also reflects how local engagement can strengthen public education outcomes.
One of Only Two Pakistani Schools Selected
Government Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain is reportedly one of only two Pakistani schools selected for the 2026 awards.
The second shortlisted institution is a private school from Punjab.
This selection gives the Sindh school an opportunity to present its educational model on an international stage.
Moreover, the achievement may encourage other public schools across Pakistan to strengthen community partnerships and adopt more practical learning methods.
The recognition also demonstrates that government institutions can compete internationally through innovation and collaboration.
Sindh Leadership Congratulates the School Community
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah congratulated the school’s principal, teachers, students, parents, and members of the local community.
They described the achievement as a moment of pride for Sindh’s public education sector and for Pakistan.
According to the provincial leadership, the recognition reflects the potential of government schools to gain international attention through teamwork, innovation, and active community involvement.
Competition Continues as Final Winners Await Selection
Although the school has secured a place in the Top 10 shortlist, it has not yet been declared the category winner.
T4 Education will select one winning school in each of the five categories through its judging process.
At the same time, shortlisted schools remain eligible for the Community Choice Award, which will be decided through public voting.
For now, the Hyderabad school’s selection already marks an important international milestone and places Sindh’s public education model in the global spotlight.
