Bestway Automotive Private Limited (BAL) is preparing to introduce three Geely SUVs in Pakistan, marking the Chinese automaker’s formal entry into the local market. The initial lineup will include two fully electric vehicles and one hybrid SUV.
The announcement came during a media interaction in Lahore on September 15. Muhammad Irfan Anwar Sheikh, Group Managing Director of Bestway Group’s non-banking businesses in Pakistan, shared details of the company’s plans ahead of the official launch.
BAL serves as the authorised distributor and official representative of Geely Auto in Pakistan. Initially, the company will import the vehicles as Completely Built Units (CBUs).
Two Electric SUVs and One Hybrid Model
Geely’s first lineup in Pakistan will focus exclusively on new-energy vehicles. According to company officials, two of the three models will be electric SUVs, while the third will feature a hybrid powertrain.
However, the company has not yet revealed the names, specifications, pricing, or detailed features of the upcoming vehicles. Further information is expected closer to the official launch.
Sources from the company indicated that bookings for Geely vehicles are likely to open before the end of 2026. The launch will serve as the brand’s first step into Pakistan’s growing automotive market.
Local Assembly Plans Underway
Bestway Automotive also plans to transition from imported vehicles to local assembly. The company recently acquired an existing CKD manufacturing facility that will support future assembly operations in Pakistan.
Sheikh said the partnership combines Bestway Group’s long-term investment experience with Geely’s global automotive expertise. He added that the group remains committed to investing in Pakistan across multiple sectors.
Furthermore, he noted that Bestway refunded pending Proton customer payments as a goodwill gesture and cleared outstanding government taxes related to the acquired facility.
The company expects to share additional details about vehicle prices, specifications, and launch dates as preparations for Geely’s market debut continue.
