Tragedy Leaves Families in Mansehra Grieving
News of the deaths caused grief among the victimsโ relatives and communities in Mansehra.
The five men had reportedly travelled to Saudi Arabia for employment. Their deaths highlight the difficult circumstances faced by many overseas workers who leave their families to earn a living abroad.
Officials have not yet released information about their employers, length of stay in Saudi Arabia or workplace arrangements.
It also remains unclear whether the explosion occurred at a workersโ residence, a workplace or another property in Riyadh.
The final investigation will determine responsibility and establish whether required safety standards were followed at the location.
Gas cylinders can become extremely dangerous when they are damaged, improperly stored or exposed to leaking connections. Poor ventilation can allow gas to accumulate and trigger a powerful explosion when it comes into contact with a flame or electrical spark.
Saudi authorities are expected to provide further details after completing their technical and legal investigation.
The Pakistani Embassy has assured the affected families that diplomatic officials will continue assisting them until the burial or repatriation process is completed.
