Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Turkish companies to expand investments across Pakistan during his official visit to Istanbul. He highlighted opportunities in energy, infrastructure, information technology, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, logistics, telecommunications, maritime services, and privatisation.ย
Moreover, he reaffirmed Pakistanโs commitment to attracting foreign investment through business-friendly policies.
According to the Prime Ministerโs Office, Shehbaz met senior executives from Tรผrkiyeโs leading business groups and industry organisations. During the meetings, he stressed the importance of transforming strong political ties into deeper economic cooperation. Furthermore, he described Pakistan and Tรผrkiye as longstanding partners with shared economic ambitions.
Pakistan Highlights Investment-Friendly Environment
Shehbaz said Pakistanโs improving macroeconomic indicators continue to strengthen investor confidence. He also assured Turkish businesses that the government remains committed to transparency and policy stability.
Consequently, he encouraged companies to explore long-term investment opportunities across multiple sectors. He explained that the Special Investment Facilitation Council provides one-window support for strategic investors. Additionally, the council works closely with federal and provincial authorities to simplify investment procedures.
During a meeting with รalฤฑk Holding Chairman Ahmet รalฤฑk, Shehbaz highlighted opportunities in energy, infrastructure, information technology, and privatisation. He also welcomed the companyโs interest in expanding its operations throughout Pakistan.
Turkish Business Leaders Express Investment Confidence
Shehbaz also invited Albayrak Group to increase investments in maritime infrastructure, port modernisation, and logistics. He acknowledged the group’s contribution to Pakistanโs connectivity and infrastructure development.
Meanwhile, he praised the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Tรผrkiye for strengthening business relations. The prime minister proposed a formal mechanism for regular private-sector engagement between both countries. He also invited the organisation to lead a high-level business delegation to Pakistan.
As a result, investors could directly assess emerging commercial opportunities. Turkish business leaders expressed confidence in Pakistanโs economic outlook and reaffirmed plans for long-term partnerships.
Earlier, both countries signed three memorandums of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the power sector. Shehbaz arrived in Istanbul after attending the funeral of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
