The Office of the Assistant Commissioner in Balakot has issued an important new notification. This update introduces revised tourist transport fares for the region. Additionally, it implements a comprehensive traffic management plan for Naran Bazaar. These timely measures aim to facilitate visitors during the busy ongoing tourism season in Kaghan Valley.
Approved Fixed Transport Fares
According to the official notification, authorities have approved fixed round-trip fares for popular local tourist destinations. A jeep ride from Naran to Babusar will now cost Rs. 12,000. Meanwhile, traveling to Babusar Top via Suzuki Carry or Yellow Cab is set at Rs. 9,000.
Officials have also standardized several other travel routes. A trip to Lake Saif-ul-Malook will cost Rs. 5,500. Journeys to Lalazar and Shogran are fixed at Rs. 4,500. Finally, travelers will pay Rs. 8,000 for Siri Paye from Kiwai, and Rs. 5,500 from Shogran to Siri Paye.
New Traffic Restrictions in Naran Bazaar
The notification introduces several strict traffic restrictions within Naran Bazaar to reduce heavy congestion. Authorities have officially banned two-way traffic in the area. Furthermore, vehicles entering the bazaar from Jheel Road and MNJ Road will no longer be allowed. Instead, all incoming traffic must enter exclusively from the Go Petrol Pump side.
Tourist vehicles leaving hotels, restaurants, and shops must now use the bypass road. Additionally, parking inside Naran Bazaar is strictly prohibited. Authorities have also banned jeeps from entering the main bazaar during this busy peak season.
Enhanced Visitor Support and Implementation
The Kaghan Development Authority must establish a dedicated tourist complaint desk immediately. They will also install additional traffic diversion, guidance, and no-parking signboards at key locations. These new measures took immediate effect following a successful stakeholdersโ meeting chaired by the Assistant Commissioner.
