Authorities in Peshawar have launched a crackdown against Afghan nationals who are staying in the district without valid legal status. The operation is being carried out jointly by the police, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, and the district administration.
The move comes as authorities intensify efforts to identify visa overstayers and implement the government’s deportation policy.
Deputy Commissioner Issues Directives
The Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar has issued an official notification to the police and district administration regarding the operation.
According to the notification, authorities have already shared lists and details of Afghan nationals whose visas have expired with the relevant departments.
The information will help officials identify individuals who are overstaying in the district.
Authorities Plan to Repatriate Illegal Foreigners
The Deputy Commissioner said the administration has adopted a plan to return all illegal foreigners residing in Peshawar.
The operation aims to complete the required legal procedures before the repatriation process moves forward.
Meanwhile, all concerned departments have been directed to complete the necessary proceedings and submit detailed reports to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office after concluding their assigned tasks.
Interior Ministry Accelerates Deportation Process
Separately, the Ministry of Interior announced that Afghan nationals staying in Pakistan without valid visas will face legal action.
According to the ministry, authorities will arrest individuals who do not possess valid visas, while the deportation process will also be accelerated from today.
The latest measures form part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enforce immigration laws and address cases involving visa overstayers across the country.
