Benny Blanco is looking back on his first year of marriage to Selena Gomez with plenty of affection and humor.
The producer and cookbook author recently appeared on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. During the September 15 appearance, Jenna Bush Hager asked him about married life with Gomez.
Blanco described Gomez as his best friend and said their first year together has felt surprisingly easy.
Benny Blanco Calls Marriage “So Easy”
Blanco admitted that their first year of marriage passed much faster than he expected.
“Honestly, it happened so quickly. I was literally just talking to Selena yesterday because we’re about to celebrate our one year, and I was like, ‘What even happened?’ It’s like done already.”
He also praised the couple’s relationship and said they naturally complement each other.
“We are so lucky and fortunate that we’re just each other’s yin and yang. Everything is so easy, and she’s my best friend,” he added, continuing, “Sometimes I get home and I feel like we’re gossiping about the same thing. It’s like, I don’t know. It’s my best friend that I get to spend the rest of my life with.”
Blanco also said he still feels amazed by their relationship.
He joked that Gomez might want to reconsider her decision to marry him.
“And yeah, I’m like pinching myself every day. I’m like, ‘Are you sure you picked the right guy?’”
Gomez and Blanco Prepare to Celebrate One Year
Gomez and Blanco are now approaching their first wedding anniversary.
Rapper Lil Dicky officiated their vow exchange on September 27, 2025, in Santa Barbara, California.
Their anniversary will mark one year since the couple officially began their married life together.
