Pakistanโs disaster management authorities have issued a nationwide weather alert, warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms and hailstorms in several regions over the next 12 to 24 hours.
The advisory, released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), also warns of flash floods, landslides and glacial lake outburst floods in northern areas.
Officials said rising temperatures are accelerating glacier melting, which increases the risk of sudden flooding in vulnerable regions.
Which Areas of Pakistan Will Receive Rain?
According to the alert, strong winds and rain are expected in Islamabad and all four provinces, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The weather system may also produce isolated hailstorms in several cities.

NDMA Warns of Flash Floods and Landslides
The NDMA said the current weather pattern matches seasonal forecasts issued months ago.
Moreover, authorities reviewed pre-monsoon preparedness during a national conference held on the prime ministerโs directives.
Because of the expected downpours, low-lying areas may experience urban flooding. Mountainous regions could face landslides and road closures.
Public Advised to Stay Alert
The NDMA urged citizens to remain cautious during severe weather.
People should avoid unnecessary travel during storms and follow instructions from local authorities.
Residents in flood-prone and mountainous areas should stay updated through official weather alerts and emergency notifications.
Meanwhile, provincial and district administrations have been asked to remain ready for any emergency response.
As Pakistan moves closer to the monsoon season, officials say timely precautions can help reduce the impact of extreme weather events.
