LAHORE: Saqib Chadhar has been summoned by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency Lahore in connection with an online harassment complaint filed by actress Momina Iqbal. The agency has also called the actress to appear as part of its preliminary inquiry into the allegations.
According to officials, the complaint was submitted online from Karachi and contains allegations against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of Provincial Assembly. Following the submission, NCCIA Lahore initiated initial proceedings to examine the claims and gather relevant evidence.
Investigation Focuses on Digital Evidence
Reports stated that both parties are expected to appear before the agency during the afternoon session, where investigators will review the matter on merit before deciding on further legal action. Since the allegations involve online harassment and cyberbullying, authorities are expected to analyze digital evidence, including social media activity, electronic communication records, and other relevant material.
Investigative sources revealed that NCCIA officials will first record statements from both sides before determining whether sufficient evidence exists to register a formal case. Furthermore, officials will assess whether the allegations meet the legal threshold for criminal proceedings under cybercrime laws.
Authorities Consider Further Legal Action
According to reports, if investigators confirm evidence of verbal abuse, cyber harassment, or threats, the matter could proceed as a regular criminal case. Officials added that the future direction of the investigation will depend entirely on the evidence collected during the preliminary inquiry.
The controversy intensified earlier this week after Momina Iqbal claimed through social media posts that she had experienced prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying, mental stress, and death threats allegedly linked to an influential political personality.
Meanwhile, legal observers expect additional developments after both parties submit their statements before investigators.
