Actors Mamya Shajaffar and Arslan Butt have reached an amicable settlement in their workplace harassment dispute.
Both actors shared copies of the settlement agreement on social media on June 22, confirming the resolution of the case.
The dispute began when Shajaffar appeared on the YouTube show Say It All with Iffat Omar. She said a person named โArsalanโ made her feel uncomfortable on set. She later clarified she was not referring to her College Gate co-star Arslan Khan.
Following the podcast, confusion arose about Arslan Buttโs involvement. Butt then issued a legal notice to Shajaffar. He called her statements false, baseless, and defamatory. He also claimed reputational damage and mental distress.
In response, Shajaffar sent a Rs1 billion counter-notice. She described Buttโs claims as malicious and said he used legal pressure to silence her allegations.
Later, both parties moved toward settlement. Their agreement, signed on June 19, said misunderstandings and disputes arose from public statements, legal notices, and social media posts.
The agreement also said both sides resolved the matter with the help of mutual mediators and respected well-wishers.
As a result, both actors agreed to close all claims related to the harassment allegations. They confirmed that no dispute or complaint remained between them.
In addition, both parties agreed not to issue any future defamatory statements. They also agreed to withdraw or close any pending complaints or proceedings.
The settlement clearly stated that it does not serve as an admission of guilt or wrongdoing by either side.
Shajaffar said she chose to settle the matter out of court due to health reasons. She also credited director Meer Sikandar for helping facilitate the agreement between both parties.
