Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says any Israeli national found in the country will be deported. His remarks came as authorities investigated allegations involving an Israeli-linked residential community in Johor.
According to local reports, the government has launched an inquiry into claims concerning a private community. Anwar said officials would take firm action if the allegations were confirmed.
He stressed that Malaysia would not compromise on the matter. Furthermore, he reiterated that the country does not recognise Israel.
Government Orders Investigation
Anwar said relevant authorities are examining the allegations linked to the residential community in Johor. He added that any Israeli citizen found in Malaysia would face immediate deportation.
Malaysia generally prohibits Israeli passport holders from entering the country without special government approval. The policy reflects Kuala Lumpurโs long-standing position of not recognising Israel.
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry launched an investigation following a request from the Johor state government. The probe focuses on allegations involving Network School, a startup community operating in Johor.
Immigration Authorities Verify Foreign Residents
Separately, Malaysiaโs Immigration Department inspected 266 foreign nationals at Forest City. Officials confirmed that all individuals possessed valid immigration documents.
Forest City is a large mixed-use development built on artificial islands near the Singapore border. The project has attracted a sizeable international community over recent years.
Authorities said the investigation into the reported allegations remains ongoing. They have not announced any findings regarding the claims involving Israeli nationals.
The government has maintained that immigration laws will continue to be enforced strictly. Officials also reaffirmed Malaysiaโs longstanding policy toward Israel.
