Nobel laureate highlights youth potential and emphasizes the importance of empowering girls through learning
LONDON: Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s future, saying the country’s educated and determined youth can play a transformative role in driving progress through knowledge and innovation.
Malala shared her views while speaking in Central London after participating in a round-table discussion with influential Pakistanis focused on improving educational standards and creating opportunities for future generations. During the discussion, she stressed that education remains a powerful tool for development and social advancement.
She said Pakistan possesses a passionate and capable younger generation that can contribute significantly to national growth. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of equipping young people with modern knowledge and technological skills to strengthen the country’s future.
Malala also emphasized the critical role of women in national development and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting educational opportunities, particularly for girls. She said seeing educated and motivated young Pakistanis working for progress remains encouraging and reflects strong potential for long-term prosperity.
Meanwhile, the event brought together creators, professionals and community figures who discussed innovation, education and collaborative efforts aimed at creating better opportunities for Pakistan.
Earlier, Malala also participated in the UK government’s Education World Forum in London, where education leaders and ministers from several countries gathered to discuss global challenges facing learning systems.
During the conference, she highlighted difficulties faced by girls in regions affected by conflict, including Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan. She noted that many girls continue pursuing education despite major barriers and difficult circumstances.
Malala also referred to the success of the Shangla Girls School, saying the institution now serves more than 1,000 students and demonstrates how determination and educational investment can create meaningful change.
