LAHORE: A Lahore civil court has issued an interim restraining order in a case concerning the alleged unauthorized use of the name “STUDYIN,” barring the relevant party from using the name until the next hearing.
The petition was filed by SECP-registered company *Studyin (Private) Limited*, which argued that the use of a similar brand name is not only creating confusion among the public but is also damaging its business reputation and goodwill.
The Civil Judge issued the interim injunction after preliminary proceedings and also appointed a local commission to further investigate the matter. The court directed the commission to visit different locations in Lahore and submit a factual report.
According to sources, the case is being viewed as a significant development in the context of brand protection and intellectual property rights within the education consultancy sector. Legal experts note that disputes involving trademark protection and corporate identity have seen a noticeable increase in Pakistan in recent years.
The court has adjourned further proceedings until the next hearing while directing all parties to continue proceedings in accordance with the law.
