Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan-Iran relations are reaching new diplomatic heights. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters outside Parliament. Moreover, he described the Iranian foreign minister’s visit to Islamabad as a significant diplomatic development.
Asif said Pakistan has played an important role in reducing regional tensions. He added that the country consistently promoted negotiations and peaceful dialogue over conflict.
Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Regional Peace
The defence minister said Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace have received international appreciation. Furthermore, he stressed that the government remains committed to dialogue and regional stability. He added that Pakistan will continue supporting efforts to reduce tensions across the Gulf region.
According to Asif, stronger cooperation with Iran will further enhance bilateral relations. Consequently, he said both countries are moving toward closer diplomatic engagement.
Government Highlights International Recognition
Asif claimed Pakistan’s diplomatic role is gaining wider international recognition. He said the country’s foreign policy continues to support peace and constructive engagement. Additionally, he expressed confidence that Pakistan’s global standing will continue improving.
The defence minister credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for strengthening Pakistan’s international image. He said both leaders have played a positive role in advancing the country’s diplomatic objectives. Therefore, Pakistan will continue pursuing peaceful relations with regional partners.
