Baby Girl Born During Emergency Transfer
A woman in Jacobabad reportedly gave birth to a baby girl inside a Qingqi rickshaw while being shifted to a private hospital.
The incident has raised serious questions about emergency maternity care and treatment facilities at government hospitals.
According to the womanโs husband, his wife, identified as Malkan, had been admitted to JIMS Hospital for three days.
He claimed that she was suffering from severe pain during her stay at the hospital.
He alleged that despite repeated requests, she did not receive timely medical attention.
The husband said the family remained worried about her condition as her pain continued.
Family Alleges Inhuman Treatment at Hospital
The womanโs husband further claimed that hospital staff had asked the family to arrange blood.
He said the family arranged and provided three bottles of blood as demanded.
However, he alleged that the response from the hospital staff remained unsatisfactory.
He also accused the staff of behaving in an inhumane manner with the patient and her family.
According to him, the family was later asked to take the woman out of the hospital despite her condition.
The husband said they then decided to shift her to a private hospital for urgent treatment.
Concerns Rise Over Maternity Care
During the transfer, the woman went into labour before reaching the private hospital.
She delivered a baby girl inside the Qingqi rickshaw.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents and rights activists.
Many have questioned why a pregnant woman in severe pain was allegedly not provided timely care at a government medical facility.
The case has also highlighted the urgent need to improve maternity services in public hospitals.
Citizens say emergency treatment, trained staff and timely medical response are essential for saving mothers and newborns.
The family has demanded accountability over the alleged negligence.
Authorities are expected to review the claims and determine whether proper medical procedures were followed.
The incident has once again exposed gaps in public healthcare access, especially for women needing urgent maternity support.
