The annual festival at Hinglaj Mata Temple concluded on Sunday, bringing together thousands of devotees in a strong display of faith. The three-day gathering ended with renewed hope for peace and harmony across the country.
Mass Pilgrimage Reflects Faith and Togetherness
The festival began on April 17. It attracted around 300,000 pilgrims this year. In fact, it is considered the third-largest Hindu religious gathering after events in India and Nepal. Many devotees traveled long distances on foot from regions such as Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Sanghar, with some journeys lasting nearly 20 days. Their dedication not only highlighted deep religious devotion but also reflected a spirit of unity and coexistence.
Moreover, the large turnout was widely seen as a positive sign of interfaith harmony. The event continued to strengthen its reputation as a symbol of tolerance and peaceful coexistence in Pakistan.
Strong Arrangements Ensure Safe and Smooth Event
At the same time, appropriate measures were taken to ensure smooth operations at the event. The provincial government, together with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, supplied necessary things and organized logistics. There was tight security at the event, and representatives from the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, police, and Levies were present all over the place.
Moreover, volunteers contributed significantly to the event because they provided meals and helped pilgrims round the clock.
Speaking at the event, Daanesh Kumar emphasized that this festival carries an important message of religious tolerance and acceptance. According to him, such events change the negative perception of people and show Pakistanโs dedication to defending the rights of minorities.
